Technology in Nuclear Medicine

This laboratory is made for interoperable use in the school of health sciences for both students to practice using liquid radio isotope (RI) and teachers to do research. People who use this RI laboratory, discharge air and water from this room and waste such as RI contaminated tubes are severely controlled.
Not only students from the Department of Radiological Technology but also ones
from the Department of Medical Technology use this laboratory. They get
the basic training of how to use RI safely, and learn how to handle RI
contaminated waste and basic skills necessary to control the inside and outside of the facilities which use RI.
We will also teach specialized subjects in which you will know the chemical reaction in aqueous solution using RI labeled compound and metabolism in cells and biological bodies.

Main contents
(1) Safe handling of RI
(2) Characteristics of device concerning radiation measurement and its handling
(3) Tracer techniques in chemical analysis and cell engineering
(4) Vitro examination techniques with RI and its effect on the laboratory data
(5) Disposal of RI contaminated object and management skills for the inside and outside of the facility
